The twins are finally here!!~~
On 16th Jan 2007 morning, Alice Gan Jia Xian (9.28am) & Ashley Gan Jia Hui (9.29am) has finally came into this world.
The experience this time was a bit more "complicated" , but also with a bit of surprise. Here's how it went...
Was admitted to Island Hospital Penang at 7:30am. Was sent to my room and was attended by the nurses to do all the necessary preparations for the operation. At first it seems like everything was going to be the same as the previous operation I've had, when suddenly the nurses asked us whether the father would like to witness the birth of the twins...this was rather surprising as we weren't usually allowed to during operation procedures. But anyway, he did went in eventually...(once in a life time opportunity you know...)
The operation went well at first. The first twin was pulled out leg first (breeched). When it came to the second twin, I thought it would also be the same, but instead, the doctor mentioned that the head had turned (probably when the first twin was being pulled), so the second twin came head out...Once the twins were out, daddy was snapping away pix of the twins with his camera phone. It was really an exciting experience for him as it is his first and last time to witness such an emotional event...hahahah...
After the operation, of course there is this waiting period to see whether my condition would stabilize or not. This did scare me at first cos I had to lie there helplessly. It turns out that the contraction of my uterus took a bit longer than usual, so was continuously bleeding non-stop. If it took a bit more longer to contract, I would have been in a bit of a life threatening situation (so it seemed) But anyway...the doctors and nurses there were quick to act and had put things under control. *phew* but the pain that had to be endured was really unbearable and undescribable (so guys...be nice and kind to females)
The time of recovery was rather fast this time. Probably because they sort of "forced" it onto the patients...hehehe...1st day operation, 2nd day was already forced to get out of bed and move, by the 3rd day had to stand and walk on my own dee. (really express recovery) Previously i can hardly sit up on the 2nd day, not to mention walking. But anyway, it did help a lot on the recovery, as it gave me more time to adapt to being independant. By the 4th day, the twins and I finally came back home and are adapting well.
Sidetrack a bit, the poor lil monkey had caught some virus during the same time and is now under quarantine in the hospital. Poor thing must miss home and is so wanting to play with her new twin sisters. But have to be safe then sorry. She'll have to recover as soon as she can before she can start coming near them. *sigh* oh well...
Will post the pix up once everythings settled. *still under confinement ~ 1 solid mth!! til CNY lohhhhh~* stay tuned...
